The other day I went to an exhibition. I don’t want to offend the people who were exhibiting or the people who were coming to see the exhibition, so I won’t go into the specifics of the exhibition. The exhibition was small but very crowded.
I’m sure I’m not the only one who thinks about the nude body, and I’m sure there are others who feel the same way I do.
In fact, when I told my friend about my impressions of the exhibition, she said the same thing.
My friend is a more art-savvy person than I am, and he actually has a lot of experience in interacting with artists.
I wondered if nakedness could be considered art. Can nakedness be art? I think the answer to this question is always in doubt.
Sometimes nudity is art, and sometimes it’s just pornography. I think it’s a very difficult question.
Just take a picture of a naked woman and say, “Look, nudity! Isn’t that sexy? I think it’s only pornography if you hold up a picture that says, “This is art.
I know that art cannot be defined, but I can’t help but wonder what art is in a photo that emphasizes female genitals, buttocks, and breasts.
I’ve seen some people say that women’s bodies are art, but I think it’s natural to ask the obvious question, then, why can’t naked men be art?
Nudity itself is not art or anything. There are those who want to see it as art, and there are cases where it is merely pornography, despite the blandishments of art.
What I noticed while looking at the many photographs was that there was a big difference between female nudes taken by women and those taken by men. This was the first time I had seen them lined up in the same space, so I was surprised at how different they were.
My first impression of the naked female body taken by a man was that it was pornographic, in other words, it was a picture that provoked sexual feelings and moods. I’m sorry, but I don’t think it’s possible to call it art.
Nudes taken by women are filled with emotion, dramatic and sentimental. But unfortunately, my honest impression is that they are still not in the realm of art. However, it’s definitely not pornography from a male perspective.
I think the reason for this lack of artistic nudity has to do with Japanese people’s awareness of nudity and their level of sexual maturity. Naturally, one’s own self-esteem and sense of value toward one’s own sex and body also have a lot to do with it.
In my experience, Japanese people have a very low opinion of their own sexuality and nakedness, and even more so, they have a very low opinion of themselves as a person. Low self-confidence naturally makes it difficult for them to mature, and prevents them from being thoughtful, so they show it off like empty threats. I think this is a very poor thing.
Sometimes, though not always, art can be inspiring. It can make people think, it can make them realize, it can give them a new perspective. From this perspective, if the subject is nudity or sex, it can be a tool to overcome prejudice and immaturity in society.
The reality is that not many people are full of self-confidence. We are all dissatisfied or unhappy with some aspect of ourselves. That’s why I think it’s time to send positive messages, educate people and make them think about nakedness and sex through art.
