I have been very interested in the power of nature and the life force, the regenerative life force, since my trip to Izu Oshima last year. 1986 eruption, Mt. Mihara was flooded with lava. Even after 10, 20, or 30 years, not many trees have grown on this burned-out, lava-covered land, but trees still grow, insects still live, and mountain lilies give off a strong fragrance.
Every year before spring, the Watarase Yusuichi (Lake which surrounded by huge wetland), which I love, burns the reed beds in the wetlands around the lake in order to control harmful insects and prevent wildfires. I went to the wetlands around the Watarase Yusuichi after the reed burning, and the scene was so beautifully burned that I was even shocked, but when I went back two weeks in a row, the green grass had already grown back. This sight impresses me very much. The grass, which is still no more than the size of my fingertip, will turn into large leaves in summer and become a marshland. Wild boars and wild birds also live here, and it is truly a wonderful place to feel life.
I want to take pictures that you can feel “life force.” yeah i know! it’s not that easy but i want to try! lol
