Friends

There are several things in my life for which I am deeply grateful. The most important, valuable, and deeply appreciated of these are my friends.
I have a number of friends that I met when I moved to Tokyo when I was 20 years old, and although many of them have grown apart over the years and eventually drifted apart, there are two female friends who have always kept in touch and come to see me when the timing is right. They have known each other since childhood and are like sisters, and even though they sometimes bump into each other, they always support each other and have a deep connection that is never broken.
I don’t know how they see me, but they are my friends, and even if we don’t have particularly deep conversations, they give me insights and inspiration.

I have met many people in my own way, and the one thing that we have in common is that people come and go, but I still enjoy spending time with them, laughing at how old we are, and having more spiritual and emotional conversations than simply asking how life is going. I am very grateful to be able to do this. I think that the three of us are experiencing a connection that goes beyond family and lovers by doing things that allow us to appreciate differences and accept the other without value judgments. I think we are very blessed to have this.

With all the trends, all the world trends and information, it is very important to understand your own point of view and not be influenced by the world around you. These women are such people, and they are being themselves, paying no attention to the trends that ebb and flow in the world of TV and the Internet. Even though peer pressure is the norm these days, it is encouraging to see these women being themselves.

I have so much to learn from them. I am truly grateful.
